Best Swarovski Binoculars For Hunting 2024-Swarovski Binoculars Reviews

Best Swarovski Binoculars For Hunting

So you are a fan of Swarovski binoculars and you are searching for the best binoculars for your next hunting expeditions.

Here, I would give all our top picks for the best Swarovski binoculars for hunting and other activities.

We will see each of the binoculars in detail and see why they are apt for your choice.

Let me give you a small overview of Swarovski as an optics company.

Swarovski Binoculars Overview

Swarovski Optik, an Austrian premium optics manufacturer, stands at the forefront of the birding and wildlife optics market. Alongside German companies Leica and Zeiss, it represents the epitome of excellence in this field.

Despite the growing competition from other parts of the world, Swarovski Optik, Leica and Zeiss remain unrivalled in their commitment to setting the “gold standard” for optics quality.

The company’s innovative lens design and unique technologies are just some of the factors that set it apart from its competitors, solidifying its place as a top-tier producer.

1. Swarovski Nl Pure 8×42 Binoculars

Swarovski has been the peak of optics for several years and the NL Pure 10×42 just made them better.

The optics are almost unreal, they are so clear, and crisp and the field of view is as wide or better than most 8x binoculars.

The clarity, detail, colour spectrum, weight/balance, field-of-view, and ergonomics are unsurpassed.

The real improvement in these binoculars is the design.

The body’s shape fits one’s hand perfectly and these are easily held with one hand.

The other MAJOR improvement is the Forehead rest. This little extra is a MUST for anyone who wears glasses.

Once set at the proper distance you will no longer be pushing the binos against your glasses and having to clean your glasses.

It allows one to one-handed raise the binoculars to your eye and get on your subject instantly. Yeah, they look funny at first but it works and once used you will never go back.

The NL pure phase-coated lenses and prisms produce a class-leading brightness. The NL pure is the brightest 10×42 binoculars I’ve ever used. In fading light — even in the moonlight — the view through them looks brighter than with the naked eye.

Besides hunting, They also provide a steadier view and are great for Raptor and Warbler watching. I suspect that other makers and/or third parties will try to copy this longtime missing item.

The one downside is that like most Swarovski optics they are expensive no getting around that. Luckily you only need to buy these once every 10 to 20 years at most.

Some salient features of Swarovski NL Pure Binoculars are

  • 10x magnification with 42 mm objective lens diameter.
  • The wide fov (399 feet at 1000 yards) with almost indiscernible edges allows you to experience nature as never before and scan a large area.
  • SWAROVISION technology with innovative lens coatings provides excellent colour rendering with a high light transmission that guarantees crisp and bright images with incredible colour fidelity.
  • Rugged magnesium housing keeps the binoculars tough without weight issues.
  • The binoculars are equipped with an eye relief of 18mm is which is a bonus.

Warranty

The Swarovski Optic NL Pure comes with a 10-year manufacturer warranty.

2. Swarovski 8.5×42 & 10×42 EL Binocular with FieldPro Package

Swarovski EL 8.5×42 and 10×42 binoculars are another set of premium binoculars for hunting.

The 10×42 model is a popular choice among bird watchers, nature enthusiasts, and hunters due to its powerful magnification and large objective lens diameter.

The Swarovski EL 8.5×42 & 10×42 binoculars offer a magnification of 8.5X and 10X respectively with an objective lens diameter of 42mm.

These binoculars are designed to provide bright, clear images with excellent detail and contrast, making them ideal for use in a wide range of outdoor activities.

Both binoculars also feature a rugged and durable design, making them suitable for use in challenging environments.

Everything is smooth and tight from the eyepiece adjustments to the focus nob to the hinge. The carry strap system is highly engineered, but simple and secure. And the ergonomics are exceptional.

Additionally, they are waterproof and fog proof, ensuring that you can use them in all weather conditions.

The field pro package contains a newly designed carrying strap, a new style quick-release connection from the strap to the binocular, and new integrated objective covers.

Let me elaborate on some of the salient features of these hunting binoculars:

1. An important feature of these EL 42 Swarovision binos is the use of field flattener lenses in the eyepieces. Only found on high-end optics, they improve the view by reducing distortions across the whole image.

2. For the 8.5X model the fov is 399ft wide at 1000yds.  FOV is plenty wide and should be more than adequate for all uses.

3. They have a durable, rubber-armoured exterior that provides a comfortable and secure grip, even in wet conditions.

4. The binocular’s open hinge body design on the whole range of Swarovski EL binoculars really needs no introduction. They are easy to operate, with large, easy-to-reach focus and diopter adjustment knobs.

5. The binoculars are also nitrogen-purged and sealed, making them waterproof and fog proof.

6. All Swarovski EL binoculars are fully coated with their patented Swarotop & Swarodur coatings. These are essentially their own patented technology of multi-layered, wide-band anti-reflection coatings that are designed to minimize unwanted reflections from the surfaces of their lenses.

Overall, the Swarovski EL 10×42 binoculars are a top-of-the-line option for anyone looking for a reliable and high-quality pair of binoculars.

3. Swarovski SLC 10×42 Binoculars

The Swarovski SLC 10×42 binoculars are another high-end binoculars offered by the Austrian brand known for their exceptional image quality and build quality.

The SLC range is Swarovski’s second tier of binoculars behind the EL range, but they’re still priced and built like premium.

The main difference seems to be a more traditional open-body design and the absence of field flatteners.

The SLCs’ armour is also different from the ELs’, both in texture and colour – it has a more leathery pattern to it. But it’s equally comfortable, grippy and un-rubbery. The body has thumb indents sculpted into the back in the SLCs

However, these 42mm SLC models are smaller and lighter than their EL equivalents.

Also Regarding optical differences;

You may have noticed that Swarovski uses another trademark for the premium ELs I.e SWAROVISIONTM

This is a cocktail name given to the combination of field flatteners, high eye-relief eyepieces and HD lenses, so the only feature these SLCs really lack is the field flatteners.

Unfortunately, these SLC are not equipped with Swarovsion technology.

Comparing SLCs to other 10×42 binoculars of other brands

SLC’s binoculars weigh a little heavier than many other 42mm binoculars out there but are still a little lighter than the EL’s

A. Optics Quality And Image Quality

  • The Swarovski SLC 10×42 binoculars are known for their exceptional clarity and brightness, providing a clear and vivid image of distant objects. This is achieved through the use of high-quality optical components, such as coatings and prisms, that enhance image quality.
  • Features SWAROBRIGHT and SWAROCLEAN trademark technologies
  • The SLC HDs also get the SWAROCLEANTM coatings that repel dirt and water from the lenses. Its not easy to get them dirty in tough terrains and weather conditions
  • Hd Optical system fluorite-containing glass offers 91% light transmission enhancing color fidelity and brightness
  • The binoculars produce accurate color representation and high contrast images, making it easy to distinguish between different objects in the field of view. This makes hunting enjoyable. You can also take it on bird watching and nature observation, where accurate color representation is important.

B. Decent Low Light Performance

The binoculars perform well in low light conditions, providing a clear image even in dim light i.e early morning and at sunsets.

C. Field of view:

The binoculars have a 330 ft wide field of view, which allows for easy tracking of fast-moving objects and a more immersive viewing experience.

D. Eye relief and diopter adjustment:

The binoculars feature adjustable 16 mm eye relief and a diopter adjustment, making them suitable for people with glasses and those with different interpupillary distances. This ensures a comfortable and clear image for users with different needs.

The dioptre mechanism is again like any recent Swarovski, and my personal favourite.

The focusing is really good – smooth and precise with no free play

E. Waterproof and fog proof features:

The Swarovski SLC 10×42 binoculars are waterproof and fog proof, making them suitable for use in all weather conditions. This ensures that the binoculars will maintain their performance, even in humid and wet environments.

One get’s what he pays for – when you purchase Swarovski you are buying the top of line in binoculars with:

  • Fully multi-coated HD Optics
  • Swarobright & Swaroclean Coatings
  • Phase Coated Prisms
  • Magnesium Housing
  • Waterproof to a depth of 4 meters in water
  • FOV: 330ft @ 1000 yards
  • 16mm Eye Relief
  • Lockable diopter located on the focus wheel
  • Metal Eyecup Housings

So, whether the more expensive EL model is worth the extra cost. Let me summarise my answer about that.

  • The ELs are longer and weigh more: these SLCs are particularly small and light for a 10×42.
  • I found the open-bridge design of the ELs a bit easier to hold.
  • The ELs have a couple of millimetres more eye relief, making them a little more comfortable with glasses.
  • ELs’ focuser is much faster, making it easier to focus and quickly grab a glimpse of the object
  • ELs have a slightly flatter, brighter, deeper field of view.

The price gap between the el and Slc is around $500-600. If you already own one, you can keep it but If you are looking for a new one and can spend a little bit extra go for the El’s they are the best ones money can buy.

4. Swarovski Cl 10×30 Companion Binoculars

We have chosen another contender for the best Swarovski binoculars for hunting i.e Swarovski Cl 10 x30 binoculars.

Let’s see why we have picked them;

If you want comfort, portability and quality, the Swarovski Cl 10×30 binoculars can be a great choice.

You will be amazed by how powerful and compact these are.

While hunting you have lots of hunting accessories. With these compact and lightweight binoculars, you won’t miss out on important sightings because your gear is too heavy to lug around.

The ergonomic design of these compact, lightweight (500 g/17.6 oz) binoculars makes them an excellent companion to get hold of quickly and conveniently.

Why Chose 10×30 When 10×42 is Present?

10×30 binoculars offer a magnification power of 10x and an objective lens diameter of 30mm. When choosing between 10×30 and 10×42 binoculars, it is important to consider the tradeoff between size, weight, and light transmission.

While the larger objective lens of 10×42 binoculars allows for more light to pass through, making them more suitable for use in low-light conditions, they also come at the cost of increased size and weight. On the other hand, the compact and lightweight design of 10×30 binoculars makes them more convenient to carry and handle, but may not be as effective in dimly lit environments.

The binoculars are equipped with Swarovski’s advanced optical coatings:

  • SWARODUR lens coatings offer scratch resistance and repel dirt, dust, and oils to ensure clear and smudge-free views
  • Swarotop coating which is an anti-reflective multicoating that enhances light transmission Swarodur makes the lenses scratch resistant.
  • SWAROBRIGHT phase-correcting prism coating eliminates internal interference to improve contrast and resolution

These features ensure high optical performance and excellent image clarity.

Let me elaborate on some of the best features that I found in these awesome binoculars:

  • Powerful 10x magnification allows for detailed observations of distant subjects, architectural details, plays, or sporting events
  • 30mm objective lenses provide improved light gathering versus compact models, without the weight and bulk of full-size optics
  • The (324’ at 1000 yards) field of view is very generous for a 10×30. The clarity is awesome and the lower magnification provides a large Field of View(FOV).
  • The close focus to less than ten feet.
  • The binoculars have Individually adjustable twist-in eyecups provide 14mm of eye relief
  • They’re small enough to keep in a jacket pocket and light enough to carry around all day long.
  • A wide 62° apparent angle of view helps to minimize the appearance of distracting hand-shake that is common when holding high-power optics and presents users with an immersive observational experience
  • Generous 324′ field of view at 1000 yards
  • you don’t have to worry about bad weather; they’re dustproof, fog proof, waterproof and submersible to a depth of 13 feet.

Swarovski’s CL Companion 10×30 WN is a beautiful, compact glass. Though it’s understandable why some might like an even smaller, lighter binocular, many find the brightness of a 30 mm objective preferable. The CL Companion 10×30 offers specifications any observer would enjoy.

I found the Cl companion the perfect size for the company, especially for bow hunting and turkey hunting. The clarity is unreal for the size.

Overall They are very comfortable to hold, well-balanced and light enough to avoid wrist and forearm fatigue during extended viewing at long hunting sessions

I would mention that price is a little steep but you definitely get what you pay for with this product.

5. Swarovski El with Rangefinder Binoculars

A rangefinder binocular is an essential tool for hunters because it allows them to accurately measure the distance to their target, making it easier to aim and hit the target.

The Swarovski El Rangefinder 10×42 is a top-performing rangefinder binocular designed to provide hunters with accurate distance measurements and clear, sharp images of their target.

With a magnification power of 10x, an objective lens diameter of 42mm, and a range of 33-1500 yards, this rangefinder binocular offers versatility and convenience for a wide range of hunting and outdoor applications.

The EL Range is in the same family of products as the EL Swarovision, so I wasn’t disappointed; the image is stunning.

The Swarobright prism coating, combined with Swarodur and Swarotop lens coating, delivers very high colour rendition with a clear ad crisp image every time.

Remarkably, the Swarovski EL Range weighs only 32.1 oz., just 2.5 oz. heavier than the 10×42 EL.

In all other measurements and dimensions, both products are identical, so if you love your ELs, you’ll love the EL Range.

The only distinguishable difference in design is the compact bump located on the underside of each barrel, which contains advanced rangefinding technology. This design feature ergonomically positions the shooter’s thumbs in a natural and forward position.”

Rangefinding & Angle Compensation Feature

One push of the top button simultaneously turns on the aiming circle, emits the laser, and displays the distance.

The old Swarovski el range had a range of 33-1500 yards.

While the new EL offers considerably more rangefinding capability– the new model can now range from 10 metres to 2000 metres (10.9 yards to 2187 yards).

The Swarovski EL Range boasts a state-of-the-art internal angle-compensating program, delivering highly accurate results. Upon activation, the device displays both the actual straight-line distance to the target and the corrected shooting distance based on both the angle and range of the shot.

This allows for more precise shots, taking into account the effects of uphill or downhill angles, resulting in improved accuracy and success in the field.

With its straight-line distance and corrected shooting distance displays, it offers a clear and effective solution to the challenges posed by angled shots.

Best Features Of Swarovski EL Range 10×42 Binoculars

  • Swarovski has added their innovative ‘Forehead Rest’ accessory as an option for the new EL Range binocular, which is pleasing.
  • The new model EL Range binocular also features SWAROVISION technology, which offers precision edge-to-edge sharpness, colour enhancement and detailed resolution.

Let me pin one of the reviews of a friend of mine regarding these awesome binoculars

“I bought these on sale for use in deer and elk hunting in Montana. Optically I can look through these all day with no eye fatigue whatsoever and the colour and clarity are second to none. Period. Performance wise this pair has never failed to give me a range at ANY outside temperature, I have hunted with them on my chest in temps of -15°f. These routinely return ranges on deer and elk at 1800 yards and rock faces or flat surfaces at 2350 yards. To another reviewer’s comments about not sitting flat against his chest, I followed the lead of most western hunters and got an Alaska guide creations bino harness for these. Comfortable, secure, and protected from snow, rain, and dropping. The perfect pairing.”
